Veteran Bollywood actor Mithun Chakraborty recently addressed the speculations around playing the enigmatic spiritual leader and philosopher Osho Rajneesh in an upcoming biopic.
During a recent media interaction, Mithun reacted to the ongoing discussions about his resemblance to Osho, which has fueled speculation that he might play the role of the mystic spiritual leader.
The conversation about Mithu playing Osho began during the shoot of The Kashmir Files when the film’s editor pointed out that the veteran actor bears a resemblance to Osho. As per Times Now, the actor revealed that he has been offered to Osho Rajneesh, but nothing can be confirmed as it might take five to six years for the film to be made.
The report quotes the actor saying, “It is a perfect choice, and Vivek (Agnihotri) wants me to play the role. Another person also approached me regarding this project. I may take it up, but when you say yes, you have to consider everything, as it is a very big responsibility. Osho is still a living God for his followers. It is not that easy, but people say I resemble him. He was a great man, and I have the utmost respect for him.”
Mithun will next be seen in Vivek Agnihotri’s The Delhi Files: The Bengal Chapter.
