Payal Kapadia‘s film All We Imagine as Light achieved a major milestone by winning the Grand Prix at the 77th Cannes Film Festival.
It was then nominated for the Golden Globe Awards as Best Director and Best Foreign Language Film.
This was a great moment as she became the first Indian filmmaker to be nominated for Best Director at the Golden Globe.
The award ceremony was held in Los Angeles. However the film did not win in either category.
The Best Director award went to Brady Corbet for The Brutalist and the Best Foreign Language Film award was won by the Spanish film Emilia Perez.
Despite this Payal Kapadia received immense praise on social media for bringing pride to India with her remarkable achievement.
