Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor’s first film of 2025, Deva, has finally released in theaters today, January 31. The actor is one of those few big-screen stars who had a successful digital debut. He made a splash with Raj and DK’s Amazon Prime Original Farzi in 2023.
The web series was a hit, and Shahid recently spoke about how overdoing OTT can impact one’s stardom. Speaking to NDTV in an interview, Kapoor was asked if stardom gets affected when superstars like him venture into streaming platforms.
Shahid said that he has done only one show and could answer correctly only if he had been part of several shows. However, he agreed to the question. He then stated, “Actually, OTT gives you a different opportunity. I am only interested in giving the audience a great experience. As a creative person, my priority is to give you a great experience.”
“I am trying to find a balance. I think, Farzi has added a lot for me as an actor. It has added a new audience. And so does a movie of mine. So, both have their own place. I think, you should do it in a balanced way and not overdo it. That’s the only thing,” the Kabir Singh actor told the publication.
Shahid Kapoor will be seen in an angry avatar in Deva, as he plays a cop who juggles between justice and rebelliousness. The film is helmed by Malayalam director Rosshan Andrrews, marking his Hindi debut. The movie also stars Pooja Hegde.
