Arun Vijay‘s latest film Vanangaan has hit theaters, and a ‘Thank You Meet’ was held to celebrate its release. At the event, Arun Vijay expressed his happiness, saying, “I’m truly grateful. Vanangaan is a milestone in my career”.
“I thank director Bala for believing in me and offering me such a unique role. He showed me how a silent character could leave a lasting impression. The appreciation I’m receiving today is all because of him”.
He also shared the challenges he faced while preparing for the role, stating, “Learning sign language, adapting my body language, and diving deep into the character were possible only with Bala Sir’s guidance. It’s rare to find such opportunities, and I’m not sure if I’ll ever get to act in a film like this again”.
Director Bala spoke about the film’s vision, saying, “While most movies focus on regions like Madurai or Chennai, I chose Kanyakumari for this story, which is based on a real incident in Chennai. The film, just over 2 hours long, moves quickly, especially in the second half”.
“It’s an attempt to tell a story with minimal dialogues. My goal is to spotlight the lives of differently-abled individuals, not to evoke pity, but to show their strength and challenges authentically”.
