British songwriter-singer Ed Sheeran impressed Indian fans by performing the popular Telugu song “Chuttamalle” with Shilpa Rao on the stage during his Bengaluru concert on Sunday.
Prior to the performance, the Grammy Award winner took to his Instagram page to share a video clip of him learning and practicing the Telugu vocals before hitting the stage.
In the video, Ed is seen introducing Shilpa on stage and asking the audience to cheer for her, saying, “Please make some noise for Shilpa Rao!” As the two sang “Chuttamalle” together, Ed perfectly tuned in to the Telugu vocals while playing the guitar. He said, “Obsessed with @shilparao’s voice for the last while, a real privilege to share the stage tonight, and learn a new language!”

The hit song “Chuttamalle” is from the movie Devara, featuring actors NTR Jr and Janhvi Kapoor.
Ed Sheeran is currently touring in India for his Mathematics tour. He recently performed in Chennai alongside music maestro AR Rahman and will conclude his tour on February 15 with his last performance in Delhi-NCR.
