Actress Rakul Preet Singh got married to producer-actor Jackky Bhagnani in February 2024 in a private ceremony in Goa amid close family and friends. Rakul, who has always been reserved about her relationship, recently opened up in an interview about why she opted for a private wedding with Jackky Bhagnani.
Speaking to India Today Digital in an interview, Rakul was asked about how she managed to keep her wedding out of the spotlight and private. To which she replied, “We always wanted it to be very basic and simple. We like comfort, but we didn’t want over-the-top luxury. We value moments and laughter more than anything else. You know how you felt instantly happy when you saw Virat and Anushka get married? It was that vibe.”
Further, adding why they chose to keep it a small affair, Rakul shared that they wanted to enjoy their wedding and hence had a no-phone policy. She then added, “It wasn’t that, ‘Oh my God, people are going to leak the pictures.’ It was just that you want to be the first person to put out the pictures. Also, we just wanted to party and dance, and I think I ended up dancing in every outfit of mine, including my wedding dress.”
Workwise, Rakul Preet Singh has Mere Husband Ki Biwi, co-starring Arjun Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar. It is releasing on February 22.
