Mumbai and Assam police visited YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia’s house on Friday over controversial comments he made on India’s Got Latent. However, his Versova apartment was locked, and his phone was switched off, making him unreachable.
Ranveer known for BeerBiceps, faced backlash for an inappropriate question about parents and sex on Samay Raina’s show. As a result, FIRs were filed against him in Mumbai and Assam. The controversy led Raina to delete all episodes of the show, stating he only wanted to entertain people.
Police summoned Ranveer to appear, but after he failed, a second notice was issued. He requested to give his statement from home, but this was denied. With no trace of him, the police teams returned. Meanwhile, he approached the Supreme Court to combine the FIRs against him.
On Friday, the police questioned Pratham Sagar, the show’s video editor, and later released him. Maharashtra Cybercrime officials summoned nearly 50 people linked to the show, including actor Raghu Ram, who recorded his statement on Thursday. The case remains under investigation.
