Suriya’s last film, Kanguva, didn’t do well at the box office, but he is now focused on making a strong comeback with Retro. Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, who also needs a hit, the film has high expectations.
Interestingly, the Telugu version is also titled Retro. The makers released the Telugu teaser, and it has been well dubbed. This action drama, set in a vintage style, follows the story of a couple caught in chaos.
Suriya plays a fierce character who often gets into fights because of his father. When Pooja, the female lead, enters his life, he tries to change.
The visuals look stunning and Karthik Subbaraj seems to have crafted a solid mix of action and romance. The teaser looks promising.
Suriya and Jyothika have jointly produced the film which is set to release on May 1st.
