Dhanush has taken legal action against Netflix, Nayanthara, and her husband, Vignesh Shivan, for using unseen clips from his film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan without permission in the documentary Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale. His production house, Wunderbar Films, is demanding Rs. 1 crore in damages for copyright violation.
While the court did not stop the documentary’s release, it will hear the full case in April. Wunderbar Films also alleged that cinematographer Ravi Varman focused only on Nayanthara during the film’s shoot, ignoring other aspects.
Nayanthara responded online, claiming they reached out to Dhanush before the documentary’s release but got no reply. She also accused him of having a personal grudge.
However, Wunderbar Films insists that using behind-the-scenes footage without approval violates copyright laws. The entertainment industry is closely watching this legal battle, with the next hearing set for April 9th.
