Ilaiyaraaja has decided to light a Moksha Deepam for director Bharathiraja’s late son Manoj at the Ramana Maharishi Ashram in Tiruvannamalai praying for his soul’s peace.
Manoj passed away on March 25th due to health issues leaving the film industry in shock. His final rites were held on March 26th and many celebrities are still visiting Bharathiraja to offer condolences.
As a close friend Ilayaraja is honoring Manoj with this spiritual ritual. He has previously performed the same for notable figures like PM Modi’s mother, S. P. B and actor Puneeth Rajkumar.
Moksha Deepam is a Hindu tradition where a lamp is lit to pray for a departed soul’s peaceful journey.
