Cinema is meant for entertainment but when it crosses the line by hurting sentiments or disrespecting women it becomes a concern.
Recently some Telugu films have faced backlash for including objectionable dance moves leading to action from the Telangana State Women’s Commission.
Sharada Nerella issued a strict warning to filmmakers asking them to avoid vulgar or degrading dance steps in songs and scenes.
The commission stated that they received multiple complaints about certain dance moves in film songs, calling them offensive towards women. They emphasized that cinema has a strong influence on society and urged filmmakers to act responsibly.
Additionally the commission warned that any dance steps portraying women disrespectfully must be removed immediately or legal action may follow.
