Akshay Kumar’s upcoming patriotic drama, Sky Force, has landed in controversy. Besides Akshay, Sky Force also stars Sara Ali Khan, Sharad Kelkar, Nimrat Kaur, and newcomer Veer Pahariya. Recently, lyricist-screenwriter Manoj Muntashir expressed his anger after the movie team failed to credit him for penning the lyrics of the recently released song Maaye.
On Tuesday, Jio Studios shared a small teaser of the film’s song on X. The song, titled Maaye, is sung by B Praak, with music composed by Tanishk Bagchi. Although Manoj was tagged in the caption, his name was not mentioned in the clip, which led to the lyricist’s disappointment.
The caption read, “Maaye – An ode to the bravehearts who gave it all to defend their motherland. Presenting #Maaye, The Anthem of Heroes, out tomorrow. SkyForce releasing in cinemas this Republic Week, on 24th January 2025.”
Manoj Muntashir Reaction
Reacting angrily, Manoj tweeted that he had not been given credit for his writing and warned the Sky Force makers of legal action. He wrote, “Please note @jiostudios,@MaddockFilms @saregamaglobal. This song is not just sung and composed but also written by someone who has given all his blood and sweat to it.”
“Removing writers name from the opening credits shows utter disrespect for the craft and fraternity by the makers. If it’s not corrected immediately, including the main song releasing tomorrow, I am going to disown the song and make sure my voice is heard by the law of the land. Shame. @IPRSmusic,” he added.
Please note @jiostudios , @MaddockFilms @saregamaglobal , This song is not just sung and composed but also written by someone who has given all his blood and sweat to it.
