For the past few months, rumour mills have been churning with speculations about a third installment of Aanand L Rai’s Tanu Weds Manu, with some suggesting that R. Madhavan is being approached for the film. However, the actor in a recent interview clarified that he hasn’t been approached for the movie.
Speaking with SCREEN in an interview, Madhavan was asked about the sequel and whether the third part of Tanu Weds Manu would feature Kangana in a triple role alongside him. Responding to the question, Maddy said, “As much as I would like to talk about it, I really have no idea. It has just been on Instagram. The media and people are asking me these questions. Neither Anand nor anybody else has talked to me about part three.”
The actor also mentioned that there might be a possibility of him being replaced in Tanu Weds Manu 3. He added, “I have no clue and I don’t know what the script is. Maybe I am not there in it. Maybe they have replaced me. I haven’t got the faintest idea”.
R Madhavan and Kangana Ranaut starrer in the romance-comedy Tanu Weds Manu, first released in 2011, and its sequel, Tanu Weds Manu Returns, released in 2015. Both parts of the franchise were hits.
Currently, Madhavan is gearing up for his next release, Hisaab Barabar, directed by Ashwni Dhir. The drama will premiere on Zee5.
