Shashtipoorthi, a new family drama starring Nata Kireeti Rajendra Prasad and National Awardee Archana, has released its first glimpse. The film marks a reunion for the pair, who last shared the screen in ‘Ladies Tailor’ during the mid-1980s.
As per the glimpse, the story is about a married couple who are in their middle ages. They have become hostile due to a misunderstanding or an incident that proved to be an inflection point in their relationship. Their son, a divorce lawyer with a tarnished reputation, takes it upon himself to reunite his parents.
Actor-producer Rupeysh Choudhary plays an author-backed role with a proper arc. As Lawyer Sriram, he plays a coming-of-age role that attempts to redeem his own image. Akanksha Singh is the heroine beside him.
Shashtipoorthi, which could be the most family-friendly film since Shatamanam Bhavathi, explores certain relatable themes. Director Pavan Prabha promises a substantial and relatable role for not just Rajendra Prasad but also Rupeysh and Archana.
Adding to the film’s appeal is the music by Maestro Ilaiyaraja, with a special song penned by music icon MM Keeravani (the rest of the songs have been penned by Chaitanya Prasad). ‘Padma Sri’ Thota Tharani is responsible for the art direction. SP Charan has rendered a song for an Ilaiyaraaja tune for the first time.
Some well-known faces like Prabhas Sreenu, Chalaki Chanti, Muralidhar Goud, and Jabardasth Ram will be seen in different roles.
