The Rayachoti Police from Andhra Pradesh arrested actor and writer Posani Krishna Murali from his home in Raidurgam, Hyderabad, on Wednesday. He lives in My Home Bhuja Apartments.
A case was recently filed against him at Obulavarpalle police station in Annamayya district under various sections of the BNS Act. The police informed his wife before taking him into custody.
The case was registered based on complaints from locals claiming that he made insulting remarks about well-known personalities.
The Rajampet court issued a non-bailable warrant against him. Posani is now being taken to Andhra Pradesh, where he will be presented before the court on Thursday.
Until a few months ago, Posani was with the YSR Congress party, but he recently announced his retirement from politics and said he is no longer associated with any party.
