Sivakarthikeyan is currently filming Parasakthi directed by Sudha Kongara, in Karaikudi. In a surprising move he has decided not to take a fixed salary for the film. Instead he will earn a share of the profits after its release.
With the film’s budget crossing Rs.200 crore this decision has caught everyone’s attention. While profit-sharing deals are common for top actors Sivakarthikeyan’s choice has surprised Kollywood showing his confidence in the film’s success.
In Parasakthi Siva plays the lead role while Jayam Ravi is the villain. The film also stars Atharvaa in an important role with Sreeleela as the female lead. GV Prakash is composing the music.
The title has also sparked controversy as Parasakthi is a legendary Sivaji Ganesan classic. Fans of the original film and its makers have raised objections to reusing the name.
