Producer Dil Raju was relieved by the Supreme Court in the copyright case related to his film Mr Perfect. The Supreme Court put a hold on the City Civil Court’s order to take action against him.
In 2017 writer Mummudi Syamala Devi filed a case claiming that Mr Perfect was copied from her novel Naa Manasu Ninnu Kore.
Based on her complaint, Madhapur Police filed a copyright case and the City Civil Court later ruled against Dil Raju after reviewing the evidence.
Dil Raju then approached the Supreme Court requesting to cancel the Civil Court’s order. On Monday a bench of Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice R Mahadevan heard the case and decided to put a stay on the Civil Court’s order postponing the next hearing for two weeks.
Mr Perfect directed by Dasaradh was released in 2011 and starred Prabhas, Kajal, and Taapsee.
