
Ilaiyaraaja shared his thoughts before leaving for London for his Symphony concert saying, “This is not my pride it is the pride of the nation”. He spoke to reporters at Chennai airport before his departure.
The legendary composer has created his first symphony ‘Valiant’ which will be performed at the Apollo Theatre in London on March 8th. Many political leaders and film personalities have wished him success.
Tamil Nadu CM M.K. Stalin, leaders Selvaperunthagai, G.K. Vasan, Thol. Thirumavalavan, Kamal Haasan, and BJP leaders L. Murugan and Annamalai personally visited him to extend their wishes.
Annamalai also touched Ilaiyaraaja’s feet for blessings and gifted him a book, ‘Thiruppudaimarudur Paintings’.
At the airport, Ilaiyaraaja expressed his excitement, calling the concert a grand musical treat for fans. When asked more questions, he simply said, “I am going for a good cause. Please avoid unnecessary questions”.
