Singer Kalpana reportedly took sleeping pills in an alleged suicide attempt which caused concern in the music industry.
Reports suggest it was due to a disagreement with her elder daughter who refused to come to Hyderabad from Kerala. However her daughter in Hyderabad clarified that it was not a suicide attempt but a case of accidental overdose.
“She is perfectly fine and healthy. She is pursuing LLB and PhD and has insomnia. She took sleeping pills, but it was a slight overdose, not a suicide attempt. We are all happy, and I request everyone not to misinterpret the situation,” said Kalpana’s daughter.
According to police, Kalpana consumed the pills around 3 PM on Tuesday. When her husband, Prasad, called from Chennai and got no response, he contacted the villa secretary to check on her. When she didn’t open the door, the police were alerted. They broke in and found her unconscious in the bedroom before rushing her to the hospital.
Authorities are still investigating the incident. Only Kalpana knows the full truth, and we hope she recovers soon to share her side of the story.
