Rashmika started her career in Kannada films but soon focused on Telugu cinema. Her hard work made her one of the top actresses in the industry. Later, she entered Bollywood and became one of the highest-paid Indian heroines.
In the past Rashmika turned down a few Kannada films which upset some fans in Karnataka. Many felt she was ignoring her home industry, leading to criticism. However, the issue eventually faded with time.
Recently the Karnataka government invited Rashmika as a guest for several events but she could not attend due to scheduling conflicts.
Congress MLA Ravi Ganiga criticized her claiming she disrespected Karnataka and the Kannada language, especially after skipping the International Film Festival. He even said the people of Karnataka should teach her a lesson.
Despite acting in blockbuster films Rashmika has never faced controversies in the Telugu or Hindi industries. But in Karnataka she often finds herself in the spotlight for the wrong reasons.
The actress now has to decide whether to stay distant from Kannada events or find time to reconnect with her home audience.
