Shivangi Review
Shivangi Movie Story: Satyabhama (Anandhi) faces a tough situation on her wedding night when her husband meets with an accident and becomes bedridden. She works hard day and night to arrange for his surgery and help him recover. At the same time, she struggles with harassment from her boss, Kiran (John Vijay), while trying to stay safe from him.
Just when she plans her husband’s surgery on their first wedding anniversary, unexpected problems keep coming her way. How she faces these challenges is what Shivangi is all about.
Performances: Anandhi delivers a strong performance as Satyabhama. Her confident dialogue delivery and punch lines make the character both enjoyable and inspiring.
Varalaxmi Sarathkumar has a very brief role, likely filmed in just two days. Though small, her character adds some value to the story, and her screen presence is a plus. John Vijay, who appears towards the end, tries to leave an impact with his villainous act.
Technical Aspects: Director Devaraj Bharani Dharan handled a familiar story with a fresh approach. His storytelling effectively highlighted that women always have the right to say “No.” Running a film with a single character is commendable. Cinematographer Bharani K Dharan ensured visually engaging frames despite the entire film being shot in a duplex apartment. His effort to avoid repetitive camera angles is noteworthy.
While the songs felt dull, the background score synced well with the film’s mood and elevated the heroine’s presence. Strong production design and coloring contributed to a high-quality output, ensuring a proper cinematic experience.
Analysis: “Shivangi” is a great example of how a regular story can be presented in a fresh way to offer a different cinematic experience. Anandhi’s performance, Devaraj’s screenplay, and Bharani K Dharan’s cinematography work together to keep the audience engaged.
Verdict: “Shivangi” delivers a unique cinematic experience with its fresh storytelling approach. Anandhi’s strong performance, engaging screenplay, and impressive cinematography make it a gripping watch. Though the narrative has familiar elements, the presentation keeps it engaging.
Bottom Line: Shivangi offers a unique cinematic experience.
