Singer Kalpana Raghavendar attempted suicide at her home in Hyderabad on March 2nd. She took sleeping pills and was found unconscious in her Nizampet residence.
She was immediately taken to the hospital and put on ventilator support. Doctors said her condition is stable but she will remain under observation.
Kalpana had locked her room and the police had to break in to find her. Her husband who was in Chennai rushed to Hyderabad after hearing the news. The police are investigating the reasons behind her actions.
Kalpana is the daughter of well-known playback singer TS Raghavendra.
She has sung over 1,500 songs in various languages and appeared in a cameo role in Punnagai Mannan, and participated in Bigg Boss Telugu Season 1, hosted by NTR. Hoping for her swift recovery.
