Actress Sridevi’s younger daughter, Khushi Kapoor, is just 24 and more mature for her age. She understands that it’s not easy being the daughter of the iconic Sridevi, as it comes with its share of challenges. Khushi made her debut with Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies, which failed to leave a lasting impact on the audience.
The actress is now ready to wow the audience with her second film, Loveyapa, alongside Aamir Khan’s son, Junaid Khan. Recently, in an interview with The Times of India, she shared her thoughts about her journey in the industry so far, her family influence, and what she expects from the future.
When asked about carrying her mother Sridevi’s legacy forward and if that feels like a burden, she said, “I understand why people want to compare us, but I believe I need to carve my own path and find my footing without getting caught up in all the noise. My mother’s legacy is unmatched, and I wouldn’t even try to reach that level. All I can do is my best and hope that people appreciate my work.”
Further, when asked if she takes work-related advice from her dad, Boney Kapoor, and sister Janhvi, Khushi quickly replied, “Oh, absolutely! I don’t think I could make any decision without Dad and Janhvi’s approval or blessing. Of course, I have my own opinions, but it puts me at ease to know we’re all on the same page.”
Loveyapa is a remake of the Tamil movie Love Today, released in 2022. Directed by Advait Chandan, the rom-com also stars Grusha Kapoor, Ashutosh Rana, Tanvika Parlikar, Kiku Sharda, and Kunj Anand, among others. The film will release on February 7, 2025.
