Actress Shanthi Priya is returning to the big screen with the Tamil film Bad Girl. Having worked in multiple industries across languages like Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi, the actor is now promoting her upcoming film. In a recent interview, Shanthi opened up about her career journey and the challenges her sister Bhanupriya faced in Bollywood.
Speaking to the SCREEN in a candid conversation, Shanthi Priya shared how she and her sister Bhanupriya never compromised or took shortcuts for work. She then discussed Bhanupriya being one of Sridevi’s biggest rivals at the time.
Expanding on this, Shanthi stated that her sister had proven herself as an actress on multiple occasions and was also compared to the legendary Shivaji Ganesan. However, despite her success, Bhanupriya faced intense competition in Bollywood.
She added, “Some people even tried to cover her in a certain aspect; she was not very happy being in Bollywood, and she thought sitting in a hotel room did not make much sense when there was more demand for her down South. So she went back to the South after doing a couple of movies here.”
Now that Shahthi Priya is making a comeback, she expresses a desire to work on quality projects. Bad Girl is a Tamil coming-of-age drama, written and directed by Varsha Bharath. The film’s release date is yet to be announced.
