Ram Gopal Varma (RGV) is facing legal trouble in Mumbai over a cheque bounce case. In January a court in Andheri issued a non-bailable warrant against him after he was found guilty.
He was sentenced to three months in jail and ordered to pay Rs. 3,72,219 as per the complaint. He was convicted under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act.
On February 15, RGV approached the court seeking bail and a suspension of his sentence. However, today, Sessions Judge AA Kulkarni rejected his bail plea.
Since he did not appear in court a non-bailable warrant was issued again. The next hearing is scheduled for July 28th.
This case dates back to 2018 when a company filed a complaint against him leading to his conviction after an investigation.
