Shah Rukh Khan‘s iconic Mumbai home, Mannat, is set for renovations this summer leading the actor and his family to temporarily move out.
However the project has hit a roadblock as activist Santosh Daundkar has raised concerns over possible rule violations.
He filed a complaint with the National Green Tribunal (NGT), claiming that necessary environmental permissions were not properly obtained.
Mannat, a heritage structure, requires special approval for modifications. Reports suggest that Shah Rukh plans to add two more floors to the six-storey bungalow.
The complaint also alleges that he converted 12 small flats, originally meant for public housing, into a single residence for his family.
The NGT has now asked Daundkar to submit proof within four weeks. If no evidence is provided, the case may be dismissed. A final decision is expected on April 23rd.
